Heaven, Hell (no regrets)

('BOOK' COVER)

“Hey Devil—”

“It’s Jin…”

“Devil—”

“Jin…”

“De~”

“AnJi, I have a name…and it’s Jin!”

Angel Ji smiled and giggled, “Alright, Devil Jin…”

“Ji…*sigh*…Fine…What is it?”

“How’s hell?” she asked, a mischievous smile creeping from her angelic features.

Devil Jin shrugged and ignored the joke, but answered it anyway. “Hot…” he replied as he sat in-front of the angel.

“And how’s heaven?” he asked

“Cool…Hey devil~”

“It’s Jin!”

“Hey Devil Jin…is it just me? Or has your horns gotten, uh, bigger?”

“It’s gotten bigger.”

“Oh? Why?”

“Because I sinned…”

“Don’t you devils always sin?”

“Yeah. But our sin down there is different. For us, doing bad is good. If you do something good, it’s a sin.”

“Oh…so it means, you’ve done a lot of good things?”

“I guess so…”

“Well, that’s good. But well…can I help you? I’ll do your good deed for you, so your horns won’t get any bigger.”

Silence. . .

“Will your horns disappear when you stop doing good deeds?”

“If I continue my bad deeds…”

“Oh… Then, will you tell me your good deed? I’ll gladly do it for you.”

Devil Jin stared at Angel Ji and looked away. Angel Ji’s usual smiling face was replaced with a worried frown.

“What’s wrong Devil Jin?” she asked.

“You know, my sin is friendship.” Devil Jin replied with a happy smile, much to the angel’s surprise. Then it sank into her.

“Friendship?”

“Yes…and love.”

“Oh~” the chatter box angel was speechless, for once.

Devil Jin let out a bitter laugh. “I made friends with an angel. What’s worst is I love her.”

“…Jin?”

“That angel is you, Ji.”

Silence. . .

“I wish I could touch you…” Angel Ji said.

The devil nodded. “Me too. It’s funny that we can sit and talk personally, but should keep a distance of 1 inch or else—”

“I’ll burn…” the angel finished for him.

They laughed. A laugh that was filled with all their emotions: love, fear, worry, regret, happiness and disappointment.

DONG…DONG…DONG…

“I gotta go.” Angel Ji said

“Yeah, me too.” Devil Jin agreed.

“See you tomorrow?”

“You will…”

The next day, Angel Ji was waiting at the place where she always meets Devil Jin.

“Angel Ji?”

AnJi looked up.

“Devil!” she exclaimed.

“I tol—” Jin was cut off when AnJi suddenly hugged him.

“I’m so happy! I can hug you now.”

She let go.

“Why aren’t you hot? Where…where are your horns?”

Devil Jin smiled, and it wasn’t an evil one. “I’m mortal now. I got kicked out of hell, said I wasn’t worth living forever.”

AngelJi smiled back. “Me too. I got punished for breaking the rules.”

“And you’re happy? Heaven’s a beautiful place.”

“I know. But I can’t be with you.”

“Cheezy…”

“Well, whatever…”

AnJi walked away, Jin following after her. He held her hand, “No regrets?”

She held his hand tighter, “No regrets…”
